You are not alone Mike - I too despair at the lack of integrity, humanity, civility and sheer stupidity rampant in both our wee local world and the increasingly dangerous and unstable wider world - Dylan said it so well "money doesn't talk it swears". Who could have ever imagined Rupert Murdoch's corrupting influence would have metastasised so widely and terribly resulting in the rise of someone like trump. I started my working life in the National Bank of NZ where we were trained that customer service was as important as balancing the day's transactions - ye Gods I'm starting to sound like my mother but she and we were the lucky ones when I muse upon the state of the world right now :/
Don’t apologise. I think the values given by our parents are alien concepts in a world that celebrates ‘what’s in it for me’. I fear for my grand children’s future

We need to stay sovereign and independent in foreign policy and investment including building investment in OUR banking and the well delayed KiwiSaver superannuation. We must vote Democratic and Environmental values back in this time. We don't have to be sheep, let the local MPs know , offer solutions if on a small scale, bring back trust .
It's really hard to stay positive with what's going on here & around the world. I love it when I get to interact with a stranger usually at the Supermarket & we can have a little joke between us that feels real everything else just feels like noise.
I'm hearing that Russias Generals want to hammer the head of Ukraine now & finish the war which my not be a bad thing.After what Netanyahu & Trump have done it's like the Wild West.

I felt for you with those dehumanizing experiences at the banks. I guess some folks experience these microaggressions very frequently too.
