There is so much white noise presently regarding the ins and outs of the looming American presidential election this November. The clamouring over who will take over the reigns of power is being presented as a defining moment in post war American politics as if the whole of humanity, not just in North America, but across the globe, is threatened or saved by the election of one protagonist over another.
It is a highly scripted play being choreographed by the real directors of the 'Pax Americana' hegemony, and it is played nightly across media airwaves to anaesthetise Americans into believing they have choice or some sort of control over their destiny.
What utter lunacy!
Since 9/11 and Bush junior's comment, 'you're either with us or against us!', galvanised, or rather terrorized the rest of western democracies to 'get in behind!' or face the consequences, we have been witness to a rapacious American war machine thunderously beating out its perpetual war dance and sucking out the very life blood of human existence in many countries across the globe.
In the twenty years between 2001 and 2021 according to the most conservative estimates at least 4.5 million people have been killed in war zones created by America.
In particular the Afgahnistan occupation by USA has been responsible for 70,000 Afghanistan civilian deaths. The war zone between Pakistan and Afghanisrtan has been responsible for 243000 people killed since 2001.
There are 1.5 million Afghanis living with disabilities and 2 million Afghani widows. The war machine costs to the top 5 agencies who prosecuted the war is a staggering $2.1 trillion.
US aid to Afghanistan stands at $36.07 billion.
Widening the focus to include, Syria and Iraq, 363,939 civilian have been killed by an America determined to 'set them free' (this doesn't take into account the millions killed from holding back medical and civilian infrastructure aid post war) a further 204645 national military and police force members were killed along with 296858 opposition forces.
The body count for this 20 year carnage to the US military a mere 7052!
Just to be clear this period of military debauchery included the Presidencys of George Bush Junior, Barack Obama, Donald J Trump and Joe Biden.
The 'war on terror' was lost since the Taliban are now firmly back in control of Afghanistan, Syrias President Assad's rule has never wavered and Iraq stumbles on in total anarchy. Meanwhile, Iran continues to be demonized alongside North Korea and China.
War Costs
At the same time America under a supreme court stacked with partisan members enacts legislation to move America ever closer to a practical vision of 'The hand maids tale' controlling womens bodily functions, banning books left right and centre, disenfranchising whole swathes of its citizens for no other reason than the colour of their skin, and placing presidents above the law of the land.
This focus has illustrated just one 'small episode' in the time line of American imperialism since 1945. The fact that the average American would be totally ignorant of what is being enacted across the world in their name is testemant to how well the Murdochs, Turners, Musks and Zuckerbergs et al have captured and controlled the narrative that blinds the masses to what is really being done to them.
It will make not one iota of difference, whether America elects its first Black American female president or re-elects a twice impeached, felon and rapist, in the wider context of American belligerence towards the rest of the world. Children will continue to die in their hundreds of thousands from shrapnel injuries, malnutrition and lack of the most basic sanitary needs in Gaza, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan or anywhere else on this planet that for the want of peace, security, food in their bellies and a safe roof over their heads, America continues to deny them. America, this disgusting terrorist state masquerading as the voice of democracy, denies basic humanitarian aid to any country or people that refuses to bend their knee.
In Gaza, Kabul, Syria or Bhagdad a tick in a box next to either a red or blue candidate won't make a blind bit of difference as they struggle to survive from one day to the next.
An interesting perspective Mike. Shocking.
